SIGMASOFT®‘s Story

Since 1998 SIGMA, headquartered in Aachen, Germany, has been the pioneer and pacemaker of Injection Molding simulation technology. SIGMASOFT® Virtual Molding is developed in cooperation with MAGMA (established in Aachen, Germany in 1988). With its metal casting software, MAGMASOFT®, MAGMA set the standard for 3D metal casting process simulation and is today’s worldwide technology and market leader. Ongoing development of both softwares is done in Aachen, Germany with the input from our users worldwide.

The roots of SIGMASOFT® go back to a MAGMA R&D project in the mid-1990s, which focused on a new coupled heat flow/fluid flow solver for non-Newtonian flow of semi-solid aluminum. Today, after 20 years of ongoing development, SIGMASOFT® multiple modules allow injection molders the ability to simulate their process and leave traditional trial-and-error in the past. In 2006 SIGMA Plastic Services, Inc. opened in the United States, serving the North American Markets.
SIGMASOFT® uses a modern, intuitive graphical user interface and integrates multiple process specific models and 3D-simulation technologies which are developed, validated and continuously optimized, also in the metal casting product, for more than 30 years. This enhanced simulation approach is of outstanding added value compared to conventional simulation approaches available for injection molding. Successful injection simulation always considers ALL of the objectives and variables of our customer’s real-life requirements. We are able to consider all of your requirements in one optimization.
